It’s official – climate change beliefs now have religious equality status « Watts Up With That?

Human nature craves religious beliefs, and atheists provide the best example for this truth.  Without exception, every atheist I’ve met is a global warming zealot.  In spite of ample evidence to the contrary, these acquaintances cling to even the most outlandish alarmist claims with a faith that rivals Job’s.

I fear for our friends across the pond, but I’m more concerned for ourselves.  It’s only a matter of time before a judge in the USA defines AGW skepticism as heresy and codifies Gore’s national religion  into law.

  1. Ben Hoffman says:

No, the science overwhelmingly supports the theory of global warming. It’s religious nuts who deny the science, just like many deny the science of evolution.

    • Jim says:

Au contraire. “The” science has experienced great difficulty standing up to scrutiny. The dire predictions concerning declining polar bear numbers or an ice free north pole have not been born out. In fact, bears and ice have been increasing. Mann’s hockey stick graph was removed from the 2001 IPCC report after its flawed statistical analysis was exposed and now it’s replacement, based on Briffa’s egregious tree ring studies, has been debunked as well.

Atheists and creationists alike would do well to examine the foundations of their beliefs rather than rely on blind faith. Darwin sure as hell didn’t succumb to the “overwhelming” scientific consensus of his age.
